Correlating polyamide powder flowability to mechanical properties of parts fabricated by additive manufacturing

نویسندگان

چکیده

This study investigates the relationships between flow properties of five blends polyamide 12, with mechanical and physical characteristics fabricated components. The bulk flowability powder were characterised using rheology. Absolute, or skeletal volume 3D printed cubes measured helium pycnometry. tensile behaviour surface hardness specimens from determined. samples correlated used. Comparison measures parts allows for prediction final product quality prior to printing. Understanding these parameters helps identify develop powders that enhance both process efficiency product.

AZ31/HA-Zeolite Nano Crystalline Biocomposite Fabricated by Mechanical Alloying and Powder Metallurgy: Mechanical Properties

Magnesium and its alloys are light, biodegradable, biocompatible metals that have promising applications as biomaterials. Magnesium is potentially useful for orthopedic and cardiovascular applications. However, the corrosion rate of this metal is so high that its degradation occurs before the end of the healing process. One of the ways to improve the corrosion rate is to compose it’s with cer...

Mechanical and Thermal Properties of Fdm Parts Manufactured with Polyamide

Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) is an Additive Manufacturing (AM) technology which is used for prototypes, single-part production and also small batch productions. For use as a final product, it is important that the parts have good mechanical properties, high dimensional accuracy and smooth surfaces. The knowledge of the mechanical properties is very important for the design engineer when it c...

Mechanical Properties of Austenitic Stainless Steel Made by Additive Manufacturing

Using uniaxial tensile and hardness testing, we evaluated the variability and anisotropy of the mechanical properties of an austenitic stainless steel, UNS S17400, manufactured by an additive process, selective laser melting. Like wrought materials, the mechanical properties depend on the orientation introduced by the processing. The recommended stress-relief heat treatment increases the tensil...

Residual Stress in Metal Parts Produced by Powder-Bed Additive Manufacturing Processes

In this study, residual stresses from the electron beam additive manufacturing (EBAM) and selective laser melting (SLM) processes, due to repeated thermal cycles, were investigated. Residual stresses play a crucial role in part performance, and thus, it is critical to evaluate the process-induced residual stresses in AM parts. Ti-6Al-4V and Inconel 718 parts produced by EBAM and SLM, respective...
